Medical Assistant HeartPlace - Plano 15th HCA - Plano, TX 75075Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Travel Percentage: None Category: Other PositionsDescription US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Plano, TXResponsibilities:Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients' charts.Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely mannerOperates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic testFill out testing orders per physicianSend out prescriptions per physician ordersOrders & explain testing to the patientGives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory testsSet up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them backReview procedure and instructions with the patientEscort patients to check-outCheck voicemails & enter messages into eCWReturn patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being soughtEnsure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is includedTravel required Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinicsSafeguard the privacy of patient health informationOther related duties as assignedRequirements:Completion of a Medical Assistant programCardiac Experience preferred but not requiredKnowledge in medical terminologyAbout Dallas/Fort Worth, TX:Dallas/Fort Worth, known as the Metroplex, offers a vibrant urban life and peaceful suburban living, making it an enticing place to reside.
