Job Summary As a Delivery Specialist, you'll deliver the great H-E-B experience our Customers know and love wherever they may be. You'll work directly alongside Curbside Partners as you retrieve, load, and deliver orders. You'll also train and mentor Delivery Partners. You'll be allowed to accept and keep all tips you earn while completing deliveries. There is no cap on the amount of tips you may earn, and H-E-B will make sure your hourly rate doesn't fall below $19.50 per hour.Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions Driving / Delivery Operations: Serves as liaison between Curbside and H-E-B Delivery Operations; role models a total team collaborative relationshipHelps retrieve orders from Curbside and loads product in delivery vehicle; preserves condition during pickup and deliveryEngages with Customer prior to, during, and after delivery for an exceptional customer experienceDelivers Customer orders to specified location accurately, safely, and on timeUnloads Customer orders from delivery vehicle; obtains Customer signature for order; may assist with getting order insideComplies with all traffic / safety laws and H-E-B policiesMaintains cleanliness of vehicle; reports maintenance problemsReports maintenance issues and equipment needsServes as subject matter expert on H-E-B Delivery processes for other eStore and Delivery PartnersProvides real-time, on-the-job coaching and feedback to H-E-B Delivery Partners as neededMentors / coaches on Delivery-related processes and systems (e.g., mobile app, retrieving / loading / unloading / closing out orders, cleaning and sanitation, fueling and washing vehicle, accident reporting)May perform other duties and attend trainings and meetings as assignedCoaches on excellent customer service and customer communication (in person and in-app)Supports new Partner onboarding; answers questions / provides additional training as neededThe responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Employees may be required to perform other job-related tasks as requested by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodations.Qualifications & Key Requirements Age Requirement: 21+Work Experience: 6+ months of experience as an H-E-B Delivery Partner, or related experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent driving recordNo moving violations or preventable accidents in the past 3 yearsNo DWI, DUI, or related convictions; no felony convictionsNo suspended or revoked driver licenses, permits, or privileges in any state / county (mandatory)Working knowledge of H-E-B Delivery-related processesAdvanced customer service skillAdvanced interpersonal skillsStrong communication skillsAbility to train and mentor; ability to identify and coach behaviors as they occurAbility to meet / maintain company and regulatory driving record requirementsAbility to work as part of a team and lead a small team without direct supervisionAbility to work a flexible scheduleAbility to role model high-performance standards, including Time & Attendance and Delivery metrics (on-time deliveries, etc.)Willingness to work while exposed to hot, wet, or cold weather conditionsAttention to detailEducation High school diploma or equivalentLicenses/Certifications Must have a valid U.S. driver's license for 3+ years and currently have a valid Class C Texas driver's license (no CDL required)Pass a drug screen / background and Motor Vehicle Records check at time of entry and on a periodic basisSuccessfully complete H-E-B's driver training program mandatoryPhysical Demands & Working Conditions Regularly lift up to 55 lbsLoad / unload delivery vehiclesWork in varying weather and traffic conditions; work while exposed to hot, wet, cold, and weather conditionsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
