Basic Functions :
Primary : Answer telephones, take and gather caller information. Track available units. Dispatch units accordingly. Maintain accurate time records of transport.
Secondary : To support the Supervisor, Dispatch in general, as needed.
Reporting :
The Dispatcher reports directly to the Supervisor, Dispatch (Supervisor).

Authorities :
Sacred Cross EMS, Inc. (SC) grants the Dispatcher the authority to exercise the responsibilities, and perform the duties, of your position. This includes full decision-making authority for all responsibilities and duties you manage, within the guidelines established by the Supervisor and other applicable company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Dispatcher is responsible for the successful performance of the following items: The Supervisor will, at times prescribed by company policy, conduct an evaluation of the Dispatcher's job performance based on these items. The Supervisor will rate the Dispatcher's performance on a scale of 1 through 5 with 5 being the highest possible score.
Requirements :
Education : A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience : A minimum of two years of verifiable, directly related experience with an organization similar in business activities to SC is preferred. The ability to work various shift schedules and a high level of computer proficiency is required.
Licenses and Certificates : This position requires a current, valid Operator's License issued by his/her state of residence and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Physical Requirements:
Body Positions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. He/she may also be required to sit for prolonged periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities.
Body Movements: The employee must have a full range of body movements, including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle, feel and manipulate various equipment. The employee must be able to bend, stoop and crouch.
Body Senses: The employee must have command of the senses of sight, hearing, touch and smell. Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Strength: The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds.
Working Conditions: This employee will primarily be working in a smoke-free, climate controlled, indoors environment. He/she will occasionally be exposed to an indoor vehicle parking and vehicle maintenance environment.
Noise Level: The noise levels for this position will range from low to moderate to high depending upon the job site conditions as described above.
Performance Requirements: The Dispatcher must meet or exceed all assigned duties and responsibilities at least 95% of the time, without sacrificing quality or safety.
