Sous Chef - Plano, TX

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to collaborate with our Executive Chef and Food Service Director at a private school in Plano, TX. This high-volume operation serves over 2,000 guests daily across multiple dining concepts and features adiverse, high-quality menu with a strong focus on allergen awareness and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in high-volume food production with upscale cuisine across multiple concepts
  • Ability to assess daily priorities quickly and follow direction from leadership
  • Strong multitasking skills, including daily prep and planning for future service
  • Expertise in preparing soups, sauces, and foundational recipes
  • Commitment to cleanliness, food quality, and adherence to HACCP standards and procedures
  • Excellent time management, organization, and a strong sense of urgency
  • Maintain accurate weekly inventory
  • Foster a positive, professional, and respectful work environment team-oriented and approachable.

We're looking for a professional who is both polished and personable, someone who values teamwork and takes pride in delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 5:30a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Occasionally evenings and catering events

Pay Type:

$26.00 - $28.00 Hourly

Full Time

  • Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
  • Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members, providing service with a smile.
  • Oversee the preparation of menu items in strict accordance with both SAGE recipes and HACCP guidelines.
  • Clean all work areas, equipment, and guest service areas on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with inventory and ordering.
  • Train, motivate, and oversee Cooks and culinary Team Members.
  • Set a good example each day by being a role model and leader in the kitchen.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Experience delegating tasks and following up with Team Members.
  • Capacity to train and motivate others.
  • ServSAFE® certification preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in English accurately.
