Job Description Job Description Job Title: Data Architect Finance (GL, AR, AP) with Strong Azure ServicesW2 Role12+ years of exp only- please dont submit if you dont have Finance (GL, AR, AP) experienceComplete remoteJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with strong expertise in financial domains including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP). The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand complex business data and design scalable, efficient data models that support financial reporting, analytics, and compliance. This role requires deep experience in architecting modern data platforms using Microsoft Azure.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand business requirements and translate them into scalable data architecture and data models .Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for finance systems (GL, AR, AP).Architect and implement end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft Azure .Build and maintain enterprise data warehouse and data lake architectures .Integrate data from ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and other upstream sources.Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks .Enable batch and real-time data processing using Azure-native services.Ensure data quality, consistency, and reconciliation across financial systems.Support financial reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.Implement data governance, lineage, and cataloging using Azure Purview.Collaborate with finance, business, and engineering teams for solution delivery.Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability of data platforms.Core Skills & QualificationsStrong ability to understand business data and design effective data models .Expertise in data modeling techniques (ER modeling, dimensional modeling star/snowflake schema).Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services , including: Azure Data Factory (ADF)Azure Synapse AnalyticsAzure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)Azure DatabricksAzure SQL Database / Managed InstanceAzure Event Hub & Stream Analytics (real-time ingestion)Azure Functions & Logic Apps (integration and automation)Azure Purview (data governance and lineage)Experience with data warehousing platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, BigQuery).Strong proficiency in SQL and data transformation frameworks .Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, ADF).Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy).Understanding of data lakehouse architecture and medallion design (Bronze/Silver/Gold) .Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes .Domain ExpertiseGeneral Ledger (GL): Journal entries, chart of accounts, financial closeAccounts Receivable (AR): Billing, invoicing, collectionsAccounts Payable (AP): Vendor invoices, payments, procure-to-pay cyclePreferred QualificationsExperience with ERP systems (SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials, NetSuite)Knowledge of compliance standards (SOX, GAAP, IFRS)Experience in finance transformation and data migration programsStrong experience in Azure cloud architecture and implementationNice to HaveExperience with real-time streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark)Knowledge of Python or scripting languagesExperience working in large enterprise environmentsThis is a remote position.
