The Multispecialty Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound services. These may include abdominal, Ob/ Gyn, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts. This position examines the patient's clinical history to identify the examination's purpose. It frames the clinical questions the examination aims to answer and expands the examination as needed. Essential Functions of the Role. Performs various specialty ultrasound procedures using different equipment and techniques. Makes necessary measurements for accurate and high-quality interpretation results. Identifies and defines abnormalities specific to the procedure. Extends the examination scope appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary. Correlates other diagnostic test results with anatomy and function. Utilizes appropriate protection measures during procedures. May assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing ultrasound studies.
