The OR Scheduling Coordinator Clinic schedules patient surgeries at various places. This includes obtaining accurate surgical orders from providers, completing necessary paperwork, coordinating schedules with hospitals and physicians, and informing patients of surgery dates and times. Essential Functions of the Role. Advise the patient on all important pre- and post-operative instructions, like food, fluid, and medication intake and restrictions before surgery. Confirm important health information, such as allergies and current medications, before giving instructions. Schedules and obtains pre-op evaluations and surgical clearance documentation from requested physicians or surgeons prior to surgery date, per protocol. Enter surgery appointments under the patient's appointment desktop. Ensure all insurance information is loaded accurately, attached to the visit, and verified.
