Assembly Foreperson

Position Overview

The Assembly Foreperson is responsible for leading all physical build stages of IPS modular shelters from steel assembly through exterior completion. This includes structural steel, insulated panel installation, roofing systems, doors, and exterior/interior finishes. This role owns the front half of production and is accountable for build quality, crew productivity, and maintaining production schedules. This is a hands-on leadership role with daily presence on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Leadership
• Lead assembly crews across structural steel, panels, roofing, doors, and finishes
• Execute production plan to meet daily and weekly targets
• Ensure smooth progression of units through assembly stages
• Quality Control
• Enforce build standards and tolerances
• Identify and correct defects before downstream handoff
• Coordinate with engineering on drawings
• Crew Management
• Supervise and direct assemblers
• Assign daily work and track progress
• Train new team members
• Material & Workflow Coordination
• Ensure materials are staged ahead of production
• Coordinate with procurement and inventory
• Maintain organized work areas
• Safety & Compliance
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards
• Conduct daily safety meetings

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in modular construction or steel assembly
• Strong experience with structural steel and panel systems
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Proven leadership in production environments
• Hands-on problem-solving mindset
