Data Engineer Position

Opening 3 Role: Data Engineer with SQL, Python & Java w/banking or FIS Location: Onsite in Plano, TX (Local ONLY) Duration: 1+ year MOI: VIDEO & F2F NO RELOCATION

We need: Three Senior (10+ years) Data Engineers with extensive experience working with SQL/NoSQL, Big Data/Spark as well as Java or Python. Candidates must have recent experience in banking or financial services/capital markets. Candidates must have development experience developing with Java and/or Python. This is not an ETL and data pipeline position. If you see a lot of ETL/data pipeline on the resume, the candidate is wrong. Please screen candidates for communication skills and do not send me anyone who is not (8/10) or better. No accent. If you sent me candidates for this last time it was open, please do not resend them. I need new candidates.

MUST BE WITHIN A ONE HOUR COMMUTE TO PLANO, TX AND GO INTO THE OFFICE 5 DAYS A WEEK. THERE WILL BE A FINAL ONSITE INTERVIEW. NO RELOCATION

Candidates must have long projects/good tenure, excellent communication skills, and a state issued ID (not bills) showing they are local.

As a Data Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Data Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. You will apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. Job Responsibilities

• Supports review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise data
• Advises and makes custom configuration changes in one to two tools to generate a product at the business or customer request
• Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases
• Innovates new ways of managing, transforming and validating data
• Applies quality assurance best practices to all work products
• Frequently uses SQL and understands NoSQL databases and their niche in the marketplace
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Formal training or certification on data engineering disciplines and 3+ years applied experience
• Experience across the data lifecycle
• Advanced at SQL (e.g., joins and aggregations)
• Working understanding of NoSQL database platforms and writing efficient SQL's
• Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
• Solid experience in Big Data technologies; (Spark, Impala, Hive, Redshift, Kafka, etc.)
• Skilled in Java and Python development - MUST
• Significant experience with statistical data analysis and ability to determine appropriate tools and data patterns to perform analysis
• Experience customizing changes in a tool to generate product
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Experience with data analytics/data management processes on AWS
• Financial Services and Commercial and Investment Banking experience
• Familiarity with DynamoDB and/or Cassandra
