Day Camp Group Leader

As a Day Camp Group Leader, you will:

• Ensure campers are organized into age-appropriate groups and supported in a safe, engaging, and bully-free environment
• Plan and implement daily camp activities that promote creativity, learning, and intellectual curiosity
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records and follow all field trip procedures
• Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating respect, patience, integrity, courtesy, loyalty, and maturity
• Build and maintain positive relationships with campers, families, and staff
• Actively support the YMCA's mission and community impact by participating in philanthropic initiatives, including engagement in the Annual Campaign to help raise awareness and funds
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must meet state licensing standards with the Texas Department of State Health Services or the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
• Minimum age of 18
• High school diploma/GED required; higher education preferred
• Previous childcare experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work outdoors for most of the day and lead activities, including swimming days
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift at least 30 pounds, and transition easily between sitting and standing
