Primary Purpose

Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures in both interior and exterior of buildings and structures throughout the district. Stripe athletic fields as required.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of compressors, spray rigs, lifts, and painting equipment

Ability to select proper paint for the job

Ability to work independently

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Smooth and repair surfaces for paint, including sanding and removing old paint.

Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.

Tape, bed, texture, and paint.

Layout and stripe athletic fields.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Working Conditions

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions. Continuous driving from location to location. Work outside and inside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Ability to lift 75 pounds.
