SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (General)

This is Hybrid role with 3 days in office at our Sally Beauty Holdings headquarter in Plano, Tx

About the role

Responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.

Must be knowledgeable of revenue recognition principles ASC 606, and corresponding Journal entries.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
• Develops, maintains, and analyzes budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Develops, implements, modifies, and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
• Performs various account reconciliations for cash and inter-company accounts; analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Establish and assigns entries to proper accounts in the General Ledger.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Oracle ERP a plus
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience
• CPA designation preferred
• Previous experience in month-end close processes
• Sarbanes Oxley compliance experience desired
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
