Oracle Database Administrator

The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. This role involves ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of database systems across development, testing, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases 11g12c19c on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms
  • Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN
  • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and storage
  • Apply patches and security updates to maintain compliance
  • Manage user access, roles, and privileges
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis
  • Support migration and upgrade projects on-prem to cloud or version upgrades
  • Work closely with application teams for schema design and performance tuning

Mandatory Skills:

  • Oracle Database Administration
  • Backup Recovery: Expertise in RMAN and Oracle Data Pump
  • Performance Tuning: SQL tuning, AWR reports, and optimizer strategies
  • High Availability: Oracle RAC and Data Guard configuration and management
  • Security: User management, roles, privileges, and encryption
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation
  • OS Knowledge: Linux/Unix administration basics
  • Patching Upgrades: Applying PSU/CPU patches and version upgrades
  • Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL development
  • Familiarity with GoldenGate for replication
  • Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing tools
