Senior Engineer

5+ to 7 years experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Diagnose, resolve and follow through on computer malfunction, and meet the needs of the end user with no technical guidance
• Trouble shoot and repair/maintain basic to moderate server issues, both hardware and software for servers physical and virtual
• Service desk activities to include answering client calls or reviewing, resolving and closing tickets in the Service Desk queue
• Trouble shooting systems and equipment problems or malfunctions
• Servers / Storage / Backup systems / Network equipment
• Identify causes and recommend solutions
• Consult with End User and Managers to determine system requirements
• Must act as a subject expert for staff and end users during trouble shooting, be their go to "IT Guy"
• Attitude that meets the Fluid culture
• Ability to work independently with little supervision, shows great accountability
• Volunteers and contributes to the team

Technical Requirements

• Experience with VMware ESXi / VCenter 5.0 and newer
• Advanced knowledge and experience working with Windows Server 2008 R2 and newer
• Active Directory
• Group Policy
• PowerShell
• Experience with Exchange 2007 and/or newer
• Experience with SAN and NAS devices
• Advanced knowledge and experience with firewalls / routers / switches / AP's
• Understand the use of policies
• SSL VPN and IPSEC VPN tunnels
• VLAN's
• Wireless configuration
• Skilled in performing Data Backups and able to use any backup software
• Configuration and management of vRanger a plus
• Configuration and management of AppAssure a plus
• Configuration and management of some backup software required
• Experience with managing technical projects

General Skills

• Excellent customer service, telephone and interpersonal skills
• Ability to move equipment, install PCs, monitors, printers, and peripherals in a business environment
• Willingness to unbox, stage and inventory equipment
• Willingness to mentor other technicians / engineers on the team.
• Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus while meeting or exceeding customer expectations, service level commitments, and changing priorities.
• Flexible/Adaptable most customer support will be during normal office hours, but there will be some after-hours support in the evening, weekends and/or Holidays
• Technical certifications strongly preferred (VCP, MCSE, CCNP, or CCNA)
