Job Summary

The Technical Project Manager will be the primary liaison between the Commercial Business teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Access) and the IT organization. This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and final delivery of all technical projects that support commercial operations, from data analytics platforms and CRM enhancements to new product launch system readiness. The ideal candidate will blend strong project management capabilities with a deep understanding of the life sciences commercial landscape and associated technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & Execution: Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closing) for technical initiatives supporting commercial operations. Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively using standard methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary interface between commercial stakeholders and IT delivery teams. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and project roadmaps.
  • System Implementation & Integration: Oversee the implementation and integration of core commercial systems, including CRM (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce), Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, data warehouses/lakes, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Commercial Launch Support: Manage the IT readiness workstreams for new product launches, ensuring all necessary systems, data integrations, and reporting capabilities are in place on time to support field activities.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly to ensure project success and minimize business disruption.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate the efforts of third-party vendors and consultants involved in project delivery, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered within scope.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure all project deliverables adhere to established IT governance frameworks and life sciences regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP compliance where applicable to systems, data privacy laws like HIPAA/GDPR).

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of [e.g., 10-12] years of experience managing technical projects, with at least [e.g., 3] years specifically within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry. Proven track record of managing full-cycle implementation of commercial systems (CRM, MDM, Data & Analytics platforms). Experience working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Data Management teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Project Management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project). Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Understanding of commercial data concepts (HCP/HCO data, claims data, sales data, MDM principles). Experience with CRM platforms (Veeva, Salesforce) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
  • Education & Certifications: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certification (e.g., CSM) is strongly preferred.
