Collin County Government is seeking candidates for the position of Vehicle Registration Clerk. This position handles duties related to vehicle registration by registering and transferring titles for motor vehicles, collecting State and County taxes and fees, handling applications for renewals, disabled placards, replacement plates, and specialized plates, maintaining records, reports and files, and sorting and processing mail. Performs related duties as required. Work is performed under the direction of the Motor Vehicle Supervisor.

Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Must have the ability to pass a typing test at the rate of at least 35 words a minute. Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. No experience necessary. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Testing Requirements: This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.

  • If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again.
  • If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete.

Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID. If you have any questions regarding the testing, please feel free to call 972-###-####.
