Job Summary

The Golf Services Attendant plays a vital role in promoting golf and delivering outstanding service to our members and guests. You will assist customers with merchandise selections, maintain an appealing retail environment, and keep everyone informed about club events and services. Support your team in managing inventory and ensure smooth operations for a fantastic golfing experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service in the pro-shop by welcoming golfers, processing transactions, and checking in players efficiently.
  • Follow cash handling protocols and meet operational standards diligently.
  • Manage member and guest inquiries, demonstrate professionalism in phone and in-person communications, and assist with tee-time bookings.
  • Maintain a calm and attentive demeanor to ensure a superior customer experience, even during busy periods.
  • Oversee inventory management by checking in new merchandise, organizing inventory, and ensuring popular items are in stock. Notify customers promptly of special orders and manage returns effectively.
  • Assist with golf operations, including marshaling and collaborating with outside services to enhance coordination between teams.
  • Support the smooth execution of daily golf operations and uphold club standards for service.
  • Complete end-of-day business functions per the club's guidelines to guarantee accurate reporting.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pro-shop and surrounding areas, restocking merchandise as needed.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to management by assisting in various projects and helping with the execution of golf events.

Additional Duties

  • Assist team members as needed to support club operations and take on other tasks assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all company, club, and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Follow safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment.
  • Pursue personal and professional growth while maintaining required certifications.
  • Tackle challenges with the resources available and collaborate with regional and corporate teams to optimize club operations.
  • Engage in daily briefings and participate in activities that foster team success.

About You

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service or retail experience, with an understanding of golf operations and etiquette.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage positively with members and guests.
  • Attention to detail for maintaining shop presentation and inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of golf merchandise and equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in varied temperature and humidity conditions.
  • Physical capabilities including sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 100 lbs.), and performing other moderate physical activities.

Tools and Equipment Used

  • Golf Clubs & Bag weighing 40 - 50 lbs.
  • Merchandise ranging from 5 - 50 lbs.
  • Standard computer and keyboard.
  • Pro Shop supplies and equipment.

Work Schedule

  • Attendance as outlined on the weekly schedule, with additional hours required to meet operational needs, including weekends and holidays.
