Position Summary

The HR Associate plays a vital support role in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for assisting with payroll preparation, employee lifecycle processes, compliance documentation, benefits communication, and internal HR communications. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, people-focused, and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with creative communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Payroll & Timekeeping Support
  • Prepare and audit employee timecards to support accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Assist with resolving timecard discrepancies in coordination with supervisors
  • Assist with the substitute shift management processes, including updates, changes, and tracking
  • Support divisional principals with scheduling questions and reports as needed
  • Manage PTO requests and tracking within Paycom
  • Support blackout date tracking and approval processes
Compliance & Onboarding
  • Support onboarding updates for new hires and position changes, ensuring accurate system records
  • Complete and maintain I-9 documentation in accordance with federal requirements
  • Support onboarding workflows to ensure a smooth and compliant new-hire experience
Learning & Professional Development Support
  • Assist with learning and training coordination, including tracking participation and completion within Paycom.
  • Support internal learning initiatives and HR-led professional development efforts
Benefits Communication
  • Communicate benefits information to employees, including enrollment reminders for new hires and employees with mid-year enrollment changes.
  • Assist with benefits-related documentation and employee questions as directed.
Employee Resources & Communications
  • Serve as an Employee Resources Content Creator, developing clear, engaging HR resources and communications
  • Assist with internal HR communications, including HR newsletters, announcements, and resource updates
  • Manage HR-related social media or internal platforms to support employer branding and employee engagement
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-3 years of administrative, HR, or payroll support experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working in HR systems and learning new technology platforms
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging employee-facing content
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to accuracy
  • The ability to respect the importance of confidentiality and trust as it relates to employee information
  • Prestonwood Baptist Church member preferred
Physical, Mental Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Regularly sitting at the computer requiring repetitive finger motion and manual dexterity
  • Up to several hours of walking and standing during events
  • Subject to working more than required hours during certain event
  • Ability to manage multiple coinciding projects
  • Close visual acuity required for viewing a computer monitor, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and reading
  • Hearing - ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Talking - expressing ideas by means of the spoken word to convey instructions to students, parents and other workers
  • Ability to communicate effectively, even in stressful situations
  • Professional appearance and dress required, as this person is often the "host" of PCA-wide meetings and events
  • Primarily inside, office environment with the exception of hosting or attending a few outside events throughout the year
  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 25 pounds
