Volt is immediately hiring for an experienced Buyer with a strong background in electronics purchasing, production planning, and international importing.

Role is responsible for sourcing electronic components, aligning material procurement with production schedules, and managing the international logistics required to support manufacturing operations.

  • Ideal candidate is detail-oriented, well-versed in electronics supply chains, and skilled in navigating global sourcing challenges.
  • Source and procure electronic components, PCBs, subassemblies, and related materials from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities for electronic parts and ensure compliance with quality, performance, and certification standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH).
  • Monitor market trends and component lead times to proactively manage sourcing risks, obsolescence, and shortages.
International Import & Logistics:
  • Coordinate international purchases and logistics, including freight booking, customs documentation, and import compliance.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders and customs brokers to track shipments and address import-related delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of international transactions, incoterms, duties, and regulatory documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with engineering, production, inventory, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with operational needs.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by sourcing prototype and pilot run materials for electronic builds.
  • Communicate proactively regarding order statuses, delivery timelines, and vendor performance.
Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, electronics, business, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a buyer or planner role with hands-on experience in electronics procurement, production planning, and international sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of electronic component specifications, BOM structures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
