Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Verification of Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Verification of Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Medical Support Department supporting the Benefits Verification team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a team-oriented mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title:Verification of Benefits Specialist
Location:Plano, TX
Pay Range: $22/hr on w2
What's the Job?
- Verify insurance benefits for patients across multiple carriers including private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare.
- Utilize portals and verification tools to confirm patient coverage and benefits.
- Maintain accurate records of benefit information and communicate findings effectively to team members and patients.
- Ensure timely processing of benefit verification requests to meet organizational deadlines.
- Collaborate with physicians and administrative staff to support billing and authorization processes.
- High school diploma required; AA degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in a utilization review environment or similar work experience.
- Knowledge of private insurance, Workers Compensation, and Medicare guidelines related to utilization review.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); experience with medical billing software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of CPT codes, ICD-10CM diagnosis coding, and benefit verification processes.
