Job Title: Welder

Reports To: Department Supervisor
Position Level: Specialist 1
Schedule: M-F 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: Lewisville, TX


Position Summary

The Welder is responsible for setting up, positioning, aligning, fitting, and welding parts to create sub-units or complete units using jigs, hand tools, and welding equipment. This role requires a strong blend of technical and mechanical skills to ensure quality and efficiency, while contributing to a safe and productive work environment. The Welder also supports the Department Lead in training team members and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to advanced welding, continuously developing technical skills.
  • Use a variety of welding, cutting, and abrasive wheel equipment to fabricate components in jigging fixtures.
  • Inspect components before welding to verify correct specifications.
  • Interpret shop drawings and fabricate new components accordingly.
  • Examine workpieces for defects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain company equipment, tools, and work areas in clean and working condition.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices (metric and standard).
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality workmanship.
  • Able to perform MIG welding, tacking, and cutting.
  • Effective in fast-paced, changing environments.
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving and performance improvement.
  • Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. and have reliable transportation.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Requirements
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with TIG welding and knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used in welding and cutting.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement and recommend effective solutions.
