OVERVIEW:

This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and nature of work for the Customer Service Ambassador position. It's not exhaustive and the incumbent may be assigned other duties as needed.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Responsible To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager / Front End Manager
  • Teammates Supervised: None
  • Inter-Relationships: Frequent contact with teammates, customers, corporate office, and vendors. Occasional contact with teammates from other locations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Act as the ambassador of extraordinary customer service.
  • Promote goodwill through respectful interactions with teammates and customers.
  • Be knowledgeable about various produce types and assist customers accordingly.
  • Provide timely and accurate checkout service with attention to detail.
  • Process a wide range of sales transactions including EFTs, WIC checks, food stamps, and coupons.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical functions effectively.
  • Follow proper sacking procedures and safety standards diligently.
  • Report pricing issues and equipment maintenance needs to management.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled products according to company policies.
  • Communicate any team conflicts or concerns to store management.
  • Understand and adhere to the company teammate handbook.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to address issues and enhance efficiency.
  • Help maintain an uncluttered front end to facilitate smooth customer flow.
  • Assist in training new front end teammates as needed.
  • Regularly interact with teammates to ensure understanding of company expectations.
  • Engage with customers consistently and remain highly visible.
  • Ensure compliance with check cashing policies and company guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Training and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong customer relations skills with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Licenses, Registration and Certification: TABC if required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in a well-lit, ventilated area with occasional exposure to refrigerated storage and outdoor weather.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medium work, requiring 20-50 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Good audio, visual, and hearing acuity is essential.
  • Significant walking and standing, with the ability to climb, bend, push, pull, twist, and more.
  • Subject to psychological stress.
