Store Loss Prevention Specialist

Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE: As a Store Loss Prevention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of both Associates and Customers. Your primary responsibility will be to deter theft and ensure a secure environment through your visible presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor. You'll interact with customers in a friendly and approachable manner while actively monitoring for potential theft and fraud.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintaining Safe & Secure Environment: Prioritize safety by following safe practices and assisting Store Leadership in creating a secure atmosphere for everyone. Your presence will encourage safe behaviors as you greet customers and monitor the environment for potential hazards.
  • Developing Great Teams & Partnerships: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, maintaining eye contact, and offering assistance. Treat all individuals with respect and professionalism, recognizing the efforts of fellow Associates through company recognition programs.
  • Mitigating Theft & Fraud: Stay vigilant by observing entrances, exits, and the sales floor for suspicious behavior. Gather intelligence on theft indicators and communicate findings effectively to Store and Loss Prevention leadership.
  • Minimizing Operational Shortage: Elevate store awareness regarding processes aimed at reducing operational shortages and train Associates on effective strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
  • One year of retail supervisory experience or similar training is advantageous.
  • Experience in loss prevention or security is preferred.
  • Active Security Guard License is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Compliance with all applicable federal and state laws regarding security positions, including background screening and physical examinations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and lower objects over 25 lbs.
  • Regular bending, stooping, or crouching as needed.
