Contract-to-hire: Staff Accountant (10509)

Our client, located in Denton, is looking for a contract-to-hire Staff Accountant to support the Finance and Accounting team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on general ledger accounting, month-end close support, account reconciliations, and financial statement data preparation. While the position requires prior A/P and A/R experience, the core responsibility will be ensuring accurate accounting records, clean schedules, and timely close execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working across departments to support accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, and prepaid activity.
• Support the month-end close process and complete assigned close tasks on schedule.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
• Assist in preparing and validating financial statement support and reporting packages.
• Research and resolve variances and reconciliation issues to ensure data accuracy.
• Provide support and backup for A/P and A/R activities as needed, ensuring proper GL alignment.
• Support accounting processes tied to manufacturing and inventory-related activity (as assigned).
• Maintain organized documentation to support internal controls, audits, and company policies.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (required).
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience (required).
• Experience supporting month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience (support and reconciliation exposure).
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
• High attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
