Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN Level 2 or 3)Part-Time (Denton - Outpatient Clinic )Candidate has the option to apply for part-time (8-16 hours)Overview: The RDN (Level 2 or 3) will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) in an outpatient setting for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and related co-morbidities. This individual will facilitate optimal patient care in a pleasant, cohesive atmosphere for patients/significant others, staff, and physicians and participate as an active member of the nutrition care team for assigned projects.Qualifications:BS degree in clinical nutrition with a focus in dietetics (MS preferred)Current registration by the Commission on Dietetic RegistrationLicensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of DietitiansMinimum 1-2 years clinical experience, with at least 1 year experience in renal nutrition preferred (CKD, dialysis, kidney transplant).Candidates without any renal experience will require CDCES and outpatient counseling experience to be considered.Hospital in-patient RDNs with renal and transplant backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.The candidate will be evaluated for charting skills and familiarity with the most recent renal nutrition and diabetes management guidelines. Additional continuing education may be requested.Preferred:Board Certified in Renal Nutrition (CSR) or Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics - Renal Practice Group (AND-RPG) and/or National Kidney Foundation - Council on RenalNutrition (NKF-CRN)Spanish or other foreign language skillsCandidate Characteristics:Excellent organizational skillsExceptional patient interviewing skills (motivational and behavior modifications with a patient-focused care model)Proficient in written/verbal communication, including excellent charting skillsDetail-oriented and self-directed with the ability to work independently.Successfully collaborates with DNA team of RDNs, physicians, other DNA staff membersDemonstrates flexibility and comfort with technology (EHR, hybrid work with in-clinic and telehealth consults)Accepts accountability for performanceNote:This is not an entry-level position . Candidates must be level 2 or 3 RDN, with renal experience or outpatient experience as a CDCES to be considered.This is not a remote position . Candidates must reside in the DFW area.
