Grounds Maintenance Technician

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Grounds Maintenance Technician. A Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for but, not limited to, performing grounds maintenance duties by maintaining the exterior of facilities. Work is performed in the Facilities department.

Primary Functions:

• Designing and planting landscapes.
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems
• Applying herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• One (1) year of previous experience is desired.
• Must have the ability to operate skid steers, tractors, and backhoes.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
