PrideStaff Financial has partnered with a McKinney, Texas based client in search of a dynamic Staff Accountant to join their growing team.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 1-3 years of full-cycle accounting experience and demonstrate a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact in their professional environment.

This pivotal role provides the opportunity to work across various industries, accelerate professional development, and contribute directly to the financial success of diversified clients.

$40,000-$60,000 base salary (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • The Staff Accountant will oversee the core day-to-day accounting functions for multiple clients, prioritizing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain precise general ledgers and record journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls.
  • Prepare comprehensive account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and all balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare standard financial reports and schedules for review by the Controller or Senior Accountant.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related compliance reporting as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure that all client deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, utilizing accounting technology and automation when feasible.
  • Provide support during audits, tax filings, and special projects as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and practical experience within a business environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • One to three years of corporate or business accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting rules.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero highly desirable; experience with other cloud-based accounting software is an advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and data manipulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and professionally.
  • Attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and a proven ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize deadlines, and thrive in a client-service environment.
