Position Overview
As the leader of UNT College and Unit Development, the AVP will provide direction for university fundraising efforts in academic units, collaborating with respective deans and other senior administrators in developing impactful philanthropic agendas-consistent with UNT's and colleges and units' strategic plans-for major and prospective donors. The AVP will serve as a member of university advancement's executive leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and seven years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of fundraising strategies in higher education.
* Ability to communicate institutional vision and build strategic partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Advanced Degree
* Minimum ten years of professional fundraising experience or appropriate related experience.
* Minimum five years of experience managing multi-level professional fundraising staff.
* Experience in higher education fundraising preferred.
* Competency in face-to-face solicitations at the principal gift level.
* Extensive strategic planning experience and experience working with boards and volunteers.
