The Opportunity

Were looking for a Network Field Engineer who loves getting out from behind the desk and making technology work where it matters mostat the clients site. Youll own the endtoend installation, upgrade, and support of network infrastructure, acting as the face of Bear Technologies for the organizations we serve. This position is located in PLANO, TX.

What Youll Do

• Design, install, and optimize wired and wireless LAN/WAN solutions, firewalls, switches, and related network hardware.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and thirdparty applications, delivering permanent fixesnot just BandAids.
• Document network diagrams, configurations, and change history in Bears standardized knowledge base.
• Collaborate with clients, internal engineers, and vendor partners to scope, stage, and execute projects.
• Coach junior technicians and crosstrain peers on bestpractice installation procedures.
• Maintain safety standards on site, including proper use of ladders and lifts, safe cablemanagement practices, and adherence to client policies.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and maintain relevant industry certifications.

What Youll Bring

• Required Certifications: CompTIA Network+ (or equivalent networking knowledge).
• Experience: 3+ years installing and supporting network infrastructure (switching, routing, WLAN) in multisite environments.
• Skills:
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and network security fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot analytically and methodically under pressure.
  • Professional written and verbal communicationyoull interact with clients most days, whether by phone or in person.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and see them through to completion.
• Other Requirements:
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs and work on ladders up to 40ft.
  • Ability to travel out of town for projects lasting up to 5 consecutive days.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights when projects demand.

Nice to Have

• Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or Meraki certifications.
• Experience with virtualized network environments (HyperV, Proxmox, VMware, etc.).
• Experience operating boom or scissor lifts.
• Knowledge of emerging AI and automation systems.
