Overview

ERISA Recovery builds technology that helps hospitals recover revenue lost to insurance underpayments and denials securely managing highly sensitive healthcare data at scale. As we grow rapidly, were evolving our engineering organization and strengthening our platform.

About the Role

Were looking for a hands-on technical leader to own the development and scaling of our ERM platform the core system that powers everything our analysts do. This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead, mentor, and set engineering culture while also writing code. Youll be responsible for building scalable processes, driving best practices, and ensuring our systems remain secure, performant, and compliant as we grow from 50 employees toward 100, 200, and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Stand up and run Azure DevOps CI/CD, IaC, environment strategy, observability, and release train.
  • Hire, mentor, and performance-manage developers; set leveling, ladders, and standards.
  • Translate HITRUST/SOC 2/HIPAA requirements into backlog, controls, and implemented changes.
  • Plan roadmaps and sprints; publish weekly status and risk logs; drive predictable delivery.
  • Maintain security by design: threat modeling, SAST/DAST, SBOM, logging, audit trails, access reviews.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years leading engineers as a player-coach.
  • SQL and performance tuning; Azure experience (DevOps, Key Vault, App Service/AKS or Containers, Azure SQL, Storage, Monitor).
  • Proven CI/CD ownership and incident management.
  • Strong written documentation and systems thinking.
Nice to Have
  • Healthcare data workflows; HIPAA/HITRUST implementation.
  • FHIR/HL7, ETL/ADF.
  • Front-end with htmx or Alpine.
Pay range and compensation package

Comp: $120,000$150,000 base + medical/dental/vision after 3 months + 401k match 4% after 6 months. Base salary negotiable and commensurate to experience.

Work Setup

On-site only. Background check and HIPAA training required. US work authorization required.

Delivery and flow

  • Deployment frequency: weekly by Day 90; ?2/week by Month 6.
  • Sprint reliability: ?90% of commitments delivered per quarter.

Quality and reliability

  • Change failure rate: ?15% by Month 6; ?10% by Month 12.
  • Escaped defects: downward trend QoQ.

Security and compliance

  • SAST/DAST and SBOM on every merge to main by Day 90.
  • Quarterly access reviews at 100%; every prod deploy linked to change ticket.
  • HITRUST gap list in 30 days; remediation executed per plan.
  • Test coverage for critical services ?60% by Month 6; +10 points by Month 12.
  • Runbooks and READMEs for 100% prod services by Day 90.
Team and scale
  • 90-day ramp plans for all new hires; 85% meet ramp goals.
  • Regretted attrition ?10% annually.
