Overview
DESCRIPTION:
Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers/Architects and Operations Engineers who define and implement the data observability and resiliency strategy for the company's data platform. Strategize and implement resiliency across Data Asset, Platform, and consumer-specific resiliency by enabling Cross Account Cross Regions (CACR) S3 replications, AWS Lake formation cross-regional backup, Glue Catalog cross-regional backup, and applications HA setup. Collaborate with senior leadership to align data lake and pipeline initiatives with business goals while driving innovation and best practices in data management and engineering. Design the architecture and oversee the implementation of the observability across data platforms. Guide the team to build Hybrid Cloud Applications and scalable, secure, and cost-efficient Splunk-based Logging and Tracing, and enable applications that support data ecosystems on AWS. Enable networking across services. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment. Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to ensure reliability. Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for the team. This position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel for internal and external conferences/off-sites and team meetings.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus nine (9) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering Director/Manager, Principal Architect, Programmer Analyst, Cloud/Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineering Director/Manager, Principal Architect, Programmer Analyst, Cloud/Systems Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills and Experience
- Five (5) years of experience architecting and developing multi-tier applications using Java and Python.
- Experience with AWS stack including VPC, ECS, EKS, Data Lake, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambda, EMR, Glue, and Athena; building cutting-edge applications on cloud.
- Networking on AWS; implementing solutions using Transit Gateway and NACLs.
- Building containerized applications using Kubernetes and Elastic Container Service on AWS.
- Experience with cloud-native design patterns, cloud migration patterns, hybrid migration workloads, function as a service (FaaS), and microservices.
- Experience with multi-cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud) for transactional and data-intensive applications.
- Three (3) years of experience with hybrid observability stacks using Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, and Dynatrace for logging, metrics, and alerts management.
- Two (2) years of experience with data frameworks and ecosystems like Spark, Hadoop, and Cloudera for building data applications.
- Experience with designing and building highly scalable and secure data-intensive applications leveraging on-premises and cloud relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, AWS RDS, AWS Aurora) and NoSQL data engines (Cassandra, Neo4j, DynamoDB, MongoDB) for Bigdata, Event Driven, E-commerce, and IoT applications.
- Knowledge of database lifecycle management including backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.
- Experience leading API development using Spring Boot stack, Maven, and Gradle.
- Experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform on multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
