Reports to: Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader
Dept/School: Maintenance Department
Work Year: 250 days
Base Salary: $40,300 *Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Coordinate grounds operations in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma / GED
Valid Texas driver's license and driving record that is insurable with FISD insurance carrier
Obtain TCEQ Irrigation Tech License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Basic computer skills
Ability to program irrigation schedules via smartphone
Ability to use mowers and landscape equipment
Ability to work independently
Ability to track inventories
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Coordinate repairs to irrigation systems and controls.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to grounds equipment.
Monitor supplies/tools.
Monitor irrigation needs and modify irrigation schedules with conservation in mind.
Wear provided safety equipment at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; standing, kneeling, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Extensive work with hands above head. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles. Frequent twisting, reaching above shoulder. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds unassisted. May work irregular and prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel.
Equipment Used:
Reel mower, Z-Turn Mower, garden tools; small hand tools, power tools, power mower; smartphones and personal computer.
