Job Details

The Counselor provides behavioral health services to juveniles and their families. This position provides counseling services to juveniles to address behavioral health needs, including mental health, substance use, behavior management, and emotional regulation, through evidence-based counseling practices. This position provides crisis counseling and conducts suicide risk assessments, substance use evaluations, and other behavioral health assessments for juveniles. This position works with others in the department and in the community to meet the behavioral health needs of juveniles. Employee is subject to the usual potential hazards of contact with detained juveniles in a secure facility. Examples of Duties Provides individual, family, and group counseling services to students in JJAEP and juveniles on probation.
