Description
The Packaging Associate is responsible for assembling, bottling, labeling, and packaging products on a production line, ensuring all finished goods meet quality and safety standards. This role may involve working in various production areas, including the powder room, and requires consistent adherence to cGMPs and SOPs. The Packaging Associate reports directly to the Production Manager or Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
• Packaging Operations: Assemble and package products efficiently and accurately on a production line to meet quality standards.
• Line Responsibilities: Perform tasks such as filling, bottling, labeling, sealing, and capping containers.
• Component Placement: Place lids, scoops, and desiccants as needed, especially in powder room environments.
• Machine Operation: Operate basic production machinery and assist with equipment setup and routine adjustments.
• Inspection: Visually inspect materials and products for defects and report inconsistencies or malfunctions.
• Line Support: Assist with other lines or departments as needed to support production goals.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of production lines throughout shifts and ensure hygienic standards are upheld.
• Documentation: Accurately complete production records, including quantities produced and any product rejections.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, cGMP, SOPs, and food safety standards.
• Communication: Report any quality or safety concerns to supervisors or the QA department immediately.
• Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Line Lead.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
• Education:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
• Preferred: Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is helpful but not required.
• Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Food Safety: Familiarity with food safety standards, company policies, and cGMP requirements.
• Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail to detect defects or discrepancies in packaging.
• Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and quickly.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work as part of a team and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and labeling.
• Adaptability: Willingness to work in different production lines or environments as needed.
• Reliability: Punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Repetitive Tasks: Must be able to perform repetitive hand movements and stand for extended periods.
• Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Mobility: Frequent walking, bending, stooping, and reaching during production tasks.
• Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Production Setting: Work is primarily conducted on a manufacturing floor with exposure to powders, machinery, and equipment.
• Temperature & Noise: Must be able to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
• Cleanliness Standards: Adherence to strict sanitary and hygienic standards is required at all times.
• Safety Compliance: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
