General Description

The Human Movement Scientist will contribute to the ongoing research, return to performance, and sports science efforts at the Sports Science and Research Laboratory (SSRL) within the Childrens Health Andrews Institute. The proposed position will work jointly with our departments of orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, concussion, rehabilitation, performance, and sports science.

Responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to ongoing projects of the SSRL that include data collection of clinical, laboratory, and field-based testing
• Contribute to data processing and statistical analyses
• Present research findings at professional conferences
• Publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals

Candidate Qualifications

The candidate will have a history of the following preferred:

• Experience working with injured and healthy athletes in clinical or sport environment
• Experience with human subjects research
• Experience with motion analysis
• Experience conducting longitudinal testing
• Experience with database management
• Experience with programming and/or other statistical analyses

How Youll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least one year of professional research experience related to orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, concussion, rehabilitation, performance, or sports science preferred.

EDUCATION

• Graduate degree in physical therapy, athletic training, exercise physiology, biomechanics, or sport science required.
• Education in Athletic Training or Physical Therapy required
