4G/5G RAN Air Interface Sr. Systems Engineer

Onsite - Plano TX

About the Role:

We're looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer with deep expertise in 4G/5G RAN Air Interface technologies to support new product rollouts, performance validation, and hands-on testing of cutting-edge wireless systems. This is a high-impact role within a collaborative and innovative telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead performance analysis and evaluate new product/software releases
• Develop and execute test cases to validate 5G air interface features
• Analyze UE/gNB logs, document test results, and identify optimization opportunities
• Troubleshoot 4G/5G wireless call protocol issues
• Educate customers on products and services—individually and as part of a team
• Work cross-functionally with teams
• Occasional travel may be required

Required Skills & Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in the wireless industry
• Bachelor's in EE, CS, or related field (Master's a plus)
• In-depth knowledge of 5G concepts: Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, NR-LTE interworking, 5G Numerologies
• Familiarity with 3GPP Release 18/19 is a strong plus
• Experience with system engineering (requirements, optimization, documentation, testing, troubleshooting)
• Deep understanding of RAN protocols – PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP
• Tools: XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, Tableau, protocol analyzers
• Equipment: Channel Emulators, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Software development and architecture understanding is a plus
