The Deputy Fire Marshal performs advance technical investigative work conducting and coordinating investigations into fires/explosives, weapons of mass destruction, hazardous materials incidents, environmental crimes, public nuisance, and other criminal violations of laws and regulations in unincorporated areas of Denton County and within municipalities when requested. Responds to and assumes command of major emergency response operations in unincorporated areas of the County and municipalities through Inter-local Emergency Management Agreements. Also, work involves functioning in an investigative capacity for the Denton County Arson Task Force. Employee is on call 24 hours of the day. Examples of Duties Prepares criminal cases for prosecution and reviews peers casefiles. May need to testify in court as to results of investigations.
