Founders Classical Academy follows a democratic classical model using the Core Knowledge curriculum, emphasizing classical liberal arts, sciences, and civic education.

Position Summary:

An Instructional Facilitator follows a learning plan to ensure curriculum standards are met for students. Responsibilities include implementing techniques to reach scholars, with duties potentially involving one-on-one meetings for ongoing training in Latin facilitation.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Must meet one of the following:

  • Texas State Teachers Certification in the subject to be taught
  • Bachelors degree with a passing score on an ExCET/TExES Exam in grade level or content area
  • Bachelors degree with an academic minor or major (minimum 18 credit hours) in core academic subjects
  • Bachelors degree plus documented relevant work experience (minimum one year) in the content area, supported by a professional recommendation
  • High school diploma

Preferred Experience: Teaching in a classical school or using classical traditional methods.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):
  • Passion for students and the subject matter
  • Ability to model and teach virtue, fostering habits of virtue in students
  • Understanding and passion for classical education
  • Ability to learn and implement classical curricula and methods
  • Classroom management for 20-27 students
  • Effective interaction with students, parents, and staff
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret student data and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and travel as needed
  • Computer literacy
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare and deliver lessons using classical methods
  • Assess student progress and communicate with parents
  • Maintain classroom discipline and environment conducive to learning
  • Participate in meetings, training, and school activities
  • Collaborate with special education staff to support accommodations
  • Perform additional duties such as sponsoring activities, counseling, and recruitment efforts
