Job Title: Sr. Project Manager

Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)

Location: McKinney, TX - flexible weekly hybrid

W2 Pay Range: $60-70/hr

Summary:

Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Project Manager to join an exciting company. This will be a 6-month contract to hire position based in McKinney, TX. There will be a weekly hybrid requirement. The Sr PM to lead infrastructure-related initiatives for a growing engineering team. This role is ideal for a self-driven project manager who thrives in fast-paced, loosely structured environments, and can confidently manage multiple simultaneous projects with limited oversight or formal tools. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in infrastructure and application delivery, excellent communication skills, and proven experience operating across diverse IT environments. Responsibilities:

• Function as a Sr. Project Manager and personally drive projects from concept to completion.
• Lead and deliver multiple concurrent infrastructure related projects (typically 2–5) across areas including cloud scalability, packaged application deployment, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Act as the primary point of coordination between infrastructure engineering, application teams, and various IT stakeholders.
• Own all project planning, execution, tracking, and delivery responsibilities with minimal guidance or existing PMO structure.
• Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to translate business goals into clear, achievable infrastructure solutions.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource needs using personal tools and methodologies – (there is no standardized PM toolset in place.)
• Collaborate with Microsoft and other partners during POCs and implementation phases of key strategic projects.
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination across multiple IT disciplines to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
• Monitor risks, resolve issues, and adapt project plans dynamically to changing requirements or resource constraints.

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree and/or related experience.
• Certifications are a plus, not required.
• Waterfall project management experience (Agile is not used on this team).
• 7+ years of Project Management experience, with at least 5 years in infrastructure-related roles.
• Proven success managing short-cycle (2–4 month) projects in small to mid-sized environments.
• Strong experience coordinating across diverse IT functions: infrastructure, applications, cloud, and operations.
• Broad technical familiarity: Cloud, servers, compute, storage, packaged application installs, etc.
• Experience managing vendors and third-party partners (e.g., Microsoft) during infrastructure engagements.
• Comfortable building and maintaining project artifacts independently – no reliance on existing PMO standards.
• Highly effective communication and collaboration skills, especially with busy technical stakeholders.
• Operate independently in a high-impact environment.
