A Structural Steel Erector located in the DFW area is seeking a Safety Director experienced with heavy steel erection projects. They install structural steel for commercial construction and pride themselves on their injury-free culture. Safety experience needed includes CHST and ASP or CSP accreditations.

Qualifications for Safety Director :

• 5 years of experience in the structural steel industry
• Project experience on heavy steel construction (5,000 Tons)
• Knowledge of current AISC structural codes and standards
• Experience with OCIP programs
• Construction Health and Safety Technician
• Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional

Responsibilities for Safety Director :

• Oversee and implement safety programs and policies on construction sites
• Train and educate employees on safety procedures and protocols
• Coordinate with insurance companies
• Assist in legal matters related to safety
• Act as liaison with regulatory agencies, assisting with inspections and compliance

Safety Director Job Functions :

• Communicate and coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure safety measures are properly implemented
• Maintain records of safety programs, training, inspections, and incidents
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits for safety compliance
• Investigate workplace accidents and develop prevention plans

Compensation / Benefits :

• Base salary: $120,000 - $140,000
