Job Details

Geotex Engineering is a DBE, WBE, and HUB certified firm looking for Staff Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Engineer or CMT Engineer-in-training (EIT). Staff CMT Engineers help in construction materials testing lab and field operations, as well as project management, assisting Professional Engineers in engineering and technical tasks. They manage moderate to complex CMT projects by providing technical expertise required to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate should have a passion for excellence, client satisfaction, and enjoy making a positive impact through a collaborative team effort. This position will reside in our Denton, TX office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Performing and/or leading construction materials testing and special inspection services
• Reviewing drawings and construction documents to assure compliance with plans and specifications
• PM select construction materials testing projects
• Track and evaluate project progress and budgets
• Research and assist in resolving construction and/or field design issues
• Review and evaluate lab and field reports
• Other duties as required

Physical Demands:

• Ability to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.)
• Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
• Ability to work overtime as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
• EIT certification a plus, but not required
