Department Summary
University Centers and Events (UCE) encompasses the University Union, Gateway Center and Coliseum. University Centers and Events (UCE), provides quality programs, services, and facilities that enhance the educational experience and create a community for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.
Position Overview
The Assistant Director serves in scheduling, supervising, planning, directing operations, billing, evaluating, and managing the Coliseum, and Gateway Center. The Assistant Director serves on the leadership team and provides assistance to the Director in managing all operations. Position supervises two full-time staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of University operations, policies, and procedures, as well as state regulatory guidelines and mandates.
Experience with computer software and applications, such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Event Management Software, etc.
Knowledge of fiscal management and ability to develop and manage event related budgets.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to the work performed.
Ability to work on call during events, including nights and weekends.
Ability to work effectively in a high-stress people-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Full-time staff supervision experience.
Large scale event Management Experience.
Arena experience.
