The City is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asset Manager to lead the creation and implementation of a centralized Asset Management program. This pivotal role will involve implementing a recently selected enterprise asset management (EAM) system, consolidating multiple existing applications into a single, unified platform, driving innovation, and implementing data asset standards and best practices in how we manage and maximize the value of our assets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in asset management program development and system implementation and will be adept at building consensus and fostering collaborative relationships across departments.

DUTIES

  • Conduct an Asset Management Maturity Assessment and guide the organization to a fully optimized, asset management program.
  • Research and provide recommendations on best-practice asset management and maintenance systems; collaborate with Technology Services and provide technical guidance for the selection, implementation, and upgrade to appropriate technologies for mobile computing, as appropriate.
  • Oversee the City of Denton Enterprise Asset Management System(s) to meet organizational goals including, but not limited to, system development, implementation, maintenance, use, procedures, processes, practices, and development assistance for annual and five-year maintenance and capital improvement programs Citywide.
  • Act as a liaison between executive management, operation and maintenance, engineering, GIS, and IT; collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain annual and long-range maintenance and capital improvement programs.
  • Contribute to overall life cycle planning for the management, rehabilitation, and renewal programs for the individual assets and classes of assets.
  • Build in-house asset management capability by providing mentoring and training programs for City staff.
  • Maintain requested asset management data; prepare reports, graphs, charts, presentations, and other materials to effectively communicate information to employees, City management, committees, and the City Council.

SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; recommend assignment/assignment change, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budget; maintain accurate budget reporting; ensure that operations are cost-effective, and funds are managed wisely.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field; and,
  • Three (3) years' experience in asset management program oversight including implementation and maintenance, or related field; and,
  • Three (3) years' experience in project management including planning and budgeting, or related field; and,
  • One (1) year experience in a management or supervisory capacity; and,

OR

  • Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
